The design envisions a research center in the scenic Moselle loop near Europe’s steepest vineyard, the Calmont. It integrates harmoniously into the environment, respecting the historic Stuben monastery ruin. Three interconnected buildings house conference rooms, living, and working areas, forming a cohesive ensemble.
A new foyer subtly closes the ruin’s western opening, preserving its visual prominence. Features like a herb garden and lookout tower reflect monastic traditions while adding modern functions, blending history with innovation to enhance the site’s unique character.
